This fundraiser will be held at Downtown Tampa. The focus will be on businesses that can contribute to SEL, such as law firms, banks, and other known businesses.

10:00 am to finish (Approx. 12p.m.) We will meet at the MSC.
Any SEL volunteer can join. This will count as being part of the first Dowtown fundraiser, and will be qualified as experience on resume or LinkedIn.

SERVICE
SEL is a non-profit organization dedicated to the mental welfare of students, children and young adults. SEL was created in an effort to combat issues such as school shootings, low test scores, depression, violence, and much more, by implementing social emotional learning. Social Emotional Learning (SEL) provides children a formal curriculum, and we will need donations to achieve our goal. Donations will be used for research, development, and implementation of the formal curriculum
PROBLEM

Mass shootings, depression, domestic violence, divorce, low student engagement, and lack of respect for teachers/authority to name a few. These are emotional problems that require a systematic, institutional solution. Our education system is the perfect place to start.

Each year, the US experiences 70,000 drug-overdose deaths, 44,000 suicides, 15,000 murders, over 875k divorces, mass shootings, millions suffering from depression and a lack of motivation. The mental health in America is in need of people like you who are sick of this problem and wish to help turn things around. Reasons such as this are why formal Social Emotional Learning curriculum needs to be provided at each school?

SOLUTIONS
- Emotional intelligence learning addresses the topics of emotional awareness, self-control, social interaction, decision making and the value of empathy, to name a few. Mental education and training provide techniques coupled with a system for achieving coping skills that can help with challenges that children and young adults are faced with.
- Investing time to teach children the importance of achievement, setting goals, working together, and discovering inspiration can change the trajectory of a student’s life and lead to academic and professional success in addition to personal prosperity.
- Social Emotional Learning (SEL) will provide children a formal curriculum to learn self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goals setting and decision making. This is our solution.

Due to the amount of funding needed, we will be asking for donations of $500, or any other amount. The letterhead will include options on how to donate and where they can donate
