Extractions

Extractions

Come in all shapes and sizes

- simple to complex

- Infected

- fractured

Each one has a different methodology for treatment

Multi-rooted extraction

- Tend to be more complex depending on the angulation and anatomy of roots.

- Always look at the radiographs.

- Patience is key!

- Slow elevation to separate PDL

- Ease when luxating

Deep Cavity

What is a VRF?

According to the American Association of Endodontists, “A vertical root fracture is a longitudinally oriented fracture of the root that originates from the apex and propagates to the coronal part.”

Vertical Root Fracture

Premolar Implant

  • Patient was missing #5, interested in implant

Stepwise implant placement

Braces vs. Aligners

Ortho

Orthodontic device that align and straighten teeth. Typically attached to the teeth.

Clear aligners are an alternative to traditional braces and are designed to help guide teeth into their proper position. Similar to braces, clear aligners use a gradual force to control tooth movement, but without metal wires or brackets.

3D Predict

- AI driven aligners

- Greater predictablity

- Faster treatment

- Work with CBCT

- Root Analysis

- Bone Analysis

3D Predict

Crown Module

- Similar across aligner platforms

- Shows attachments, IPR

- How may steps in treatment

- Step by step movement of teeth

Root Module

Allows visualization of critical structures

- Root structure: paralellism, root collision

- Sinus, blounting

- Patient's actual roots NOT a library

Bone Module

- Thickness bone around teeth

- Keeps teeth within alveolar housing

- Why does this matter?

Veneers

Veneers are thin porcelain or composite resin coverings that are bonded to the front surface of a tooth using dental cement.

This is a PERMANENT change used to correct tooth imperfections, such as stained or chipped teeth.

Veneers

Traditional Veneers

FirstFit

Placement behind graft

  • Ridge Augmentation
  • Gained about 4 mm of bone
  • 6 mo healing between procedures

All on X

The procedure allows dentists to replace multiple teeth or entire arches with just a few implants. All-on-4® is the Nobel Biocare-trademarked name for the treatment, but all-on-X is the commonly accepted generic term. The “X” refers to the number of implants, which can be four or more, all the way up to eight.

- Advanced Periodontal Disease

- Extensive bone loss

- Hopeless dentition
