TOPIC 4

Types

Ground-level photographs

  • They are taken from the ground.

  • Large objects in the foreground may block out features in the middle and background.

Oblique photographs

  • They are taken form above the ground, which the camera pointed at an oblique angle to the ground.

  • Similar to ground-level photographs: the background will appear smaller than those in the foreground.

  • Often horizon cannot be seen.

Vertical photographs

  • They are taken from above the ground with the camera lens pointed directly down on the area being photographed.

  • The photograph will not be distorted, although it will be hard to estimate their height.
