Detie could not take care of Heidi anymore. Heidi needed a better home. Especially since Detie's and Heidi's parents had passed away. This happened when Heidi was about three. Detie had been taking care of Heidi for a few years. Now, it came to the time where Detie was growing up, and could not take care of Heidi anymore. So, here they are walking up a long mountain to take Heidi to her new home. The are walking up a long mountain to Dorfli, where Grandfather lives. Grandfather is not a nice man at all, but thats where Heidi's new home is going to be. Will Heidi learn to like Grandfather, or not?

You should read this book, because it is very fun and so well written. I think so many people would enjoy this amazing book. I reader that likes adventure and excitment should read this book. I would probably give this book four stars. I give it for stars because it was so entertaining.

I think the theme of this book is friendship and loving one another no matter how mean or rude they may seem at first. I also think the theme is do not judge a book by it's cover.
