I would say that Cooper is the Hero because he is the most put together and has thought their whole situation out the most. He has basically proved that he isn't on drugs and didn't know about the things Simon was going to say.

Keely used to be the mentor, until Cooper broke up with her. Which in my opinion was uncalled for. She kind of kept him together.

The Herald would have to be Addy. I feel like in a way she started Cooper on this journey because she reassured him at one point. I don't think he had much faith before and I think that he would have given up and let people assume the worst things.

The police and school systems are definitely the threshold guardians. They are trying to prove the worst to get Cooper and his friends accused of murdering Simon.

The trickster would have to be Simon before he died. The police and school seem to think that his tricks are what killed him. He had a website where he would find out huge parts of student's lives and anonymously post them, but everyone knew it was him. He had a post ready to post but it hadn't been posted yet and it was about the 6 students in detention with him when he died.

The shapeshifter is definitely Nate. He is a drug dealer on probation with a drunken dad on one side, and the other side he is this sweet boy in love with the smartest girl in school. He has two totally different sides in my opinion.

I think the shadow is Bronwyn because she seems the most worried about people finding out that she copied the answers from her professor and cheated. That was one of the things on the post that Simon was going to send out. So if i had to guess who killled Simon I would guess it was Bronwyn.
