Counting the costs
Once upon a time
Mother was approached by daughter
Hopes to go on a trip to NY
Pricey - Mom encouraged her to count

Get a job / less free time / less sports
Daughter was willing / in the end...
Cost proved to be too much
Luke Chap 14 talks about counting the cost
Disciple - Can apply to anything we pursue
It's important whenever we purse to count
We can do this to our best abilities
However there are costs we can't foresee
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—
There are variables we can't know about
God doesn't have this problem
God being omniscient/existing outside of time
doesn't experience variables
He sees from eternity past to future
Nothing sneaks up on Him
Of course a perfect God that encourages
Would surely take His own advice
Before beginning anything
This includes the human race
The Scriptures tell us that God has
intentionally bound Himself to humanity
through a 1-sided covenant for eternity
And this covenent is all on Him
We will be forever linked (Abe, Isaac, Jacob)
He didn't create us because He was lonely
or incomplete in any way
He is 100% self sufficient
God, 3 persons in 1, perfectly contained
community in and of Himself
But He created us any way
When counting the costs He saw a people...
He saw a people that would...
oppose Him in every way
eventually want to remove him / fabric
choose and fight for their right to / 3000+
tear each other apart if /the resistance of HS
He saw rocks and mountains obey
He saw the water obey
He saw wind and lighting bolts obey
He saw humans shake their first and say no!
He knew..
What would need to take place for/salvation
He would have to unleash an immeasurable
wrath on His Son for us to have a chance
He knew that even after He provided
Ultimate demonstration of His love
Most would reject it
He knew He would be blamed for every
bad thing we humans decide to do
He counted the costs
The total on the bill was an infinite amount
It was the blood of Jesus Christ
And He made us anyway
And if you are saying amen and amen
He made a special path just to you
He put you on His list of items to be
redeemed for a great price
Young lady mentioned earlier
had the best intentions to pay the price
Necessary to get to NY / unfortunately
Came up short
Thankfully for our sakes God
never comes up short
Phil 1:6 Tells us quite the contrary
6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
