Christopher Columbus was a verY GOOD explorer he sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and explored some islands now known as the Bahamas, He also explored the South American Coasts.

- He was born in 1451 in Genoa, Italy
-He died on 20th May 1506 in Valladolid, Spain
-He was buried in Cathedral De Sevilla, Seville, Spain
-He had two children: Diego Columbus, Ferdinand Columbus
At Sea
When he was a teenager he got a job on a Merchant Ship and his crew had been attacked by a French ship. The boat sank and he made his way to Lisbon with one broken sharp piece of wood to help him.

He made 4 trips across the Atlantic from Spain in 1492, 1493, 1498 and 1502.He wanted to find a route from Europe to Asia, but never did, instead he stumbled upon the Americas.
At the end of the 15th century it was almost impossible to travel from the Britons to Asia by land.
