After being undecided for a lot of my college process I pick something that was interesting to me which was criminal justice.
When first looking for colleges I wrote down a few colleges that seemed appealing to me. I wrote down around 20 colleges originally then I would narrow it down from there.
When narrowing down colleges i had to ask my parents about how much we could afford for both me and my sister. Having this conversation with them also help me with other things like finical aid(fafsa), and advice on college.
My final list of colleges was narrowed own to 8 colleges that like a felt was the best colleges.
When i started to apply for colleges I had already done my fafsa and set up my common app. With these done it made my application process easy since more than half of my colleges were on the common app.
After I finished my initial applications for colleges I discovered more majors that I found interest in. Since I was never really sure about one major in the beginning
During my college path I only visited one college which was John Jay College of Criminal Justice. This college was terrible when i visited and actually was my number 1 choice until I went there.Visiting this college gave made me take my decision much more serious.
Overall through my whole college process i have learn the importance of college and what it take to not just get into college but to attend it and be success. With all this in mind and the expenses of college i have decided to go to community college for one year and transfer to a college. I made this decision so that I have time to be 100% sure about the profession I want to go into and to see if college is even something that I want to do.
