How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
Target Audience
Target Audience
Our primany target audience is both female and male aged between 18-30 years old, with interests in film and action but also just enjoy watching modern series or films with a good gripping edge of the narrtive and storyline. Looking at at recent trends, it is important to note that providers such as Netflix are making available a range of media films and series. In recent years' programmes that have acheived both critial and public acclaims include Stranger Things, Peaky Blinders and Breaking Bad. All of these programmes and films include narrtives that focus on danger, murder, relationships and mystery.
Secondary Target Audience
Our secondary target audience is again both female and male but aged between 15-18, this is because people are the type of people and viewers who enjoy wacthing a tarditional crime drama, but with less amount of viloence and graphic images in.

Our tertiary target audience would be again both female and male but any age, these are the type of people who are good fans and followers of the traditional film noir but want have new twist of the film noir and see modern version of the traditional film noir

On realease in both cinemas and Netflix the film would be cerificated 15 to ensure our secomdary audience would have access. On tevelsion release the film will be shown post watershed time of 9 pm. Theatircal trailers would be shown pre and watershed. The post watershed would include more graphic moments although the film adheres to the BBFC catergorisations of a 15 which states that to qulaity for a 15 film must include discrimination, drugs, imitable behaviour, language, nudity, sex, threats and violence. I feel that i meet these points because my film shows threats, violence and sexual nature.

The main audience's socio-enomics background will be between catergoiers B to D rating, this would be because our film will be aired/shown in cinemas so that people who are from these catoergies are able to afford a cinema ticket but they are also able to afford things like Netflix which is a modern app which is supporting the modern narrtive and storyline of the film genre that we were going for.

To promote our film, we will advertise it through the following things like trailers in the cinema in films that follow the similar or if not similar the same characteristics of ours, for example Blade Runner, because it can make the audience of the Blade Runner to want to watch our film because it shows the same codes and conventions as it, another example of codes and convention is iconography, with costume as the femme fetale’s costume.
We could also have the trailer shown on ceratin channels for example we could show the trailer after the shows like Connation Street by doing this it targets the watchers and the viewers are normally older, so this would help inform our tertiray target audience about the following the news of the film and physcailly wacthng the trailer of the film.

Another way to promote our film, would be to show it cinemas before other films start, the bad thing about this would be that it runs the risk that the film we be pirated but by us show the trailer in the cinemas before another films it allows the tertiary target audience that older generation to view the trailer, because maybe they don’t know how to access or work apps like Netflix. But on the other hand the younger side of our target audience so the primary and especially the secondary target audience can just go onto Netflix and watch it from there, if we have the film distributed on apps like that.

Also another way to promote our film would be to have our detective in the film to wear suits that are sold in shops like Moss Bros, by doing this it would like the people who buy suits from Moss Bros want to watch our film because they asocialate the detective with Moss Bros and their favourite suits. But I would have my poster for my film on the side of popluar buildinig or on the bus, this would be because on the side of a popluar bulding for example, the amount of people that would go throught to the building and seeing the poster. Also on a buses and buses go everywhere around the country which shows the a large amount of people seeing the poster of the film as the buses go through, this epecially would help inform my terity audince because they may not know how to access or work websites or Facbook.

Another way to promote my film, would be to create a website to allow followers and fans of the film to see what is going. The website can allow the fans to see things like behind the scenes clips, little daliy vlogs of one of the actors that are in the film and see what it is like to be an actor for a day, by making a website this will allow our primany target audince because these ages are able and know how to access these like websites.
But another way to allow our secondary target audeince would be to have a the trailer an dnews of the film on Facbook and Instrgam because this were most people aged between 15 to 18 spemd there time on soical media through Facbook.
