In this webquest you will learn about optical illusions.
When you're done learning you will make your own optical illusion.
Optical illusions are made to trick your brain into seeing something that is not there in reality.
When you look at something, your brain processes what you see and makes an image of the object you're looking at in your head.
Optical illusions use colours, patterns and lights to make it difficult for your brain to process exactly what you are seeing. That way your brain creates an image in your head that in reality is not there.
In the video the men demonstrate how an optical illusion can deceive you.

Maurits Cornelis Escher is a Dutch artist, known for his optical illusions. He's made over 50 optical illusions, using mostly a lithographic method.*
Escher has his own museum in Den Haag.
Google Escher's work and pick your favourite artwork. You need this image for the quiz at step five.
* Lithographic method: carving an image into wood or a tile and filling it in with ink before pressing it onto a sheet of paper.
You're going to make your own optical illusion.
If you follow all the steps you should end up with a hand underneath your paper. (At least that is what your brain thinks ;))
Please hand in your final product via teams.
