1.- BIG BRANS USING DEVELOPING COUNTRIES THEMSELVES OFTEN COMPETE FOR CONTRACTS FROM LARGE CORPORATIONS.

2.- THE PRESENCE OF LARGE CORPORATIONS REDUCES UNEMPLOYMENT AND CREATES NON-SKILLED WORK.

3.- THIS PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPL WITH LIMITED EDUCATIONS AND THEREFORE CONTRIBUTES TO THE ECONOMY OF A DEVELOPING COUNTRY.

4.- CLIFTON AND MAUGHAN, 2004 SAY THAT COUNTRIES SUCH AS CHINA AND INDIA HAVE SEEN SIGNIFICAT ECONOMIC GROWT AS A RESULT OF INVESTMENT BY LARGE MULTI-NACTIONAL CORPORATION.

REALITY

1.- REPORTS THAT GAP AND NIKE HAVE TAKEN STEPS TO ENSURE THEIR PRODUCTS ARE NOT PRODUCED BY SWEATD LABOUR AND OFFER THEIR CUSTOMERS ASSURANCES ON THE ETHICAL VALIDITY OF THEIR MANUFACTURING PROCESSES.

2.- THAT PROBLEM OF EXPLOTATION IS NOT LIMITED TO BIG BRANDS AND INDEED BIG BRANDS ARE FAR FROM THE WORST OFFENDERS AS THEY ARE FAR EASIER TO REPRIMAND AND CONTROL THAN SMALLER, LOCAL COMPANIES.

3.- EVEN THOUGHT THERE ARE MORE 4000 BRANCHES ALL OVER JAPAN, PEOPLE STILL ADMIRE AND CONSUME THEIR OWN TRADITIONAL FOOD.

4.- INDEED, THE CONCEPT OF GLOBALISATION HAS GAINED CURRENCY LOCAL FLAVOUR AND RATHER THAN BRANDS HOMOGENIZING CULTURE, CULTURE LOCALIZES BRANDS.
