Who We Are

The Performance Ranch is the premier human performance training facility in New Mexico. Human performance at the Performance Ranch is built off of 5 Pillars; movement, mindfulness, rest/recovery, nutrition, and education. The Performance Ranch coaches integrate these pillars of human performance in each session to enhance athlete’s performance both inside and outside of their sport.

-Regardless of sport, each athlete must run, jump, produce and accept force, in many planes of motion.

-As such our, purpose is to give each athlete every tool neccessary for success.

Every athlete is assessed through a variety of tools and techniques to ensure the exercise selection is appropriate, precise and scalable for the needs of the individual.

Sport Specific Training

Sport Specific Training

Sport Specific training is largely a myth and something easily confused and often misunderstood.

Every athlete needs to push, pull, squat, hinge, resist rotation and hold athletic postures for sustained periods of time.

However, the amount of time dedicated to each postural position varies from athlete to athlete and sport to sport. Football players, wrestlers, soccer players and swimmers have similar needs, however the implementation of certain means will vary.

Our job is to make it easy for you by giving each athlete a comprehensive understanding as to why they are doing certain things in their programs

In Season/Off Season

Seasons change and so should your training. Athletes will continue to train in season, and out of season through thought out planning that will maintain and build upon strengths built in the off season.

Education

Greatness isn't a singular action, greatness is bred from consistent progress and consistent high level performance over time. The best way to keep our athletes healthy and performing at a high level is to give them resources and understanding that will help carry them for the long haul.

From start to finish, we will educate each athlete in exercise technique, methodology, and give them tools to continue to care for themselves long after they've left our care

Every athlete receives coaching that is second to none. We aim to assess, identify and improve upon areas of weakness and build upon the strengths of the individual.

Whether you're in season, off season or just coming off an injury, each coach will develop a plan for the individual that is personalized and appropriate for the individual.

Athletic Performance

Designed to teach fundamental movement patterns, stability and proprioception

Relative training age 0-1 years, 7-13 chronological age

Foundational Development

Designed to build upon skills previously acquired through changes in load, intensity and difficulty

Relative training age 2-4 years, roughly 13-18

Physical Development

Designed introduce new variables that ensure further longevity and development

5+ training age, 18-post college

Athletic Development

Speed & Agility

-Athletes need to be strong but they must also develop the coordination and body awareness skills to make their strength usable and transferable.

-The Performance Ranch offers Speed and Agility specific training to help athletes improve acceleration, top end speed and multi directional movement

Strength and Conditioning

Athletes will receive a well rounded approach to strength training from some of the best coaches in the state. Strength is king but we promise to ensure each athlete is educated in preparing their bodies for activity.

We strongly believe in thoughtful progression of the athlete based on their needs and the principles of mobility, stability, nutrition and recovery.

One of the most vital pieces of recovery, the Performance Ranch offers several services to support healthy eating and eating habits.

The Performance Ranch will offer nutrition seminars to Manzano High School athletes free of cost.

Jessika Brown is a registered dietitian since 2010. She is a certified eating disorders dietitian (CEDRD), a certified specialist in sports dietetics, a certified group fitness instructor, and a certified health coach with ten years of experience in the field of health and wellness.

Prior to working with DietitiansABQ, she served as the lead dietitian at Sandia National Laboratories and as a clinical dietitian at Lovelace Women’s Hospital.

Recovery

Recovery is crucial. Our mantra is to TRAIN HARD but RECOVER HARDER.

As such, we offer a variety of services to aid your athletes and keep them on the field

Massage

Massage

-Tissue quality and suppleness is a major component of healthy training. Without it, the body cannot function at an optimal level.

-To help maintain the well being of each athlete, our resident Muscle Therapist Nate Flores will be made available to each athlete at a discount cost.

Elite OSM

One of the most important resources we have available is having the staff from Elite OSM within our walls.

We're all about problem solving and if our staff feels an athlete needs a higher level of care, we will work hand in hand with the Elite OSM staff to get you healthy and back doing what you love.

Mindfulness

Also to be made available to Manzano athletes the Performance Ranch will offer Sport Psychology Coach Jose Maresma

-Just like the body, the mind can be trained to adapt to pressure, stress and fatigue.

-Through the practice of mindfulness, guided meditation and a plethora of other research based practices Jose will help to bring the best out each person who walks through our doors.
