CBD Legality
- CBD products extracted from hemp are legal to sell and distribute in all 50 states based on the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill and the Industrial Hemp Regulatory Program.
- Gray areas still exist at the state level, in banking regulations, and in interstate commerce.

What is CBD (Cannabidiol)?
- Plant species Cannabis Sativa L. contains a wide spectrum of cannabinoids.
- The two most prominent are CBD (Cannabidiol) and THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol).
- CBD is a natural plant chemical that stimulates the body’s cannabinoid receptors to regulate and maintain homeostasis.
- The amounts of CBD and THC vary greatly in Cannabis; that variance is what distinguishes hemp from marijuana.

Panacea's Raw Materials Definitions
RAW MATERIALS
- Crude oil: The output of the first phase of extraction, 65% CBD by weight
- Distillate oil: The second phase in extraction, distillation of cannabis allows for the extraction of all cannabinoids from the hemp plant for a pure and potent oil to use in our finished goods.
- Isolate: 100% CBD. The third phase in extraction, CBD is Isolated and then refined to strip out all additional cannabinoids, terpenes, and plant components found in the hemp plant.
- Terpenes: Fragrant oils that give cannabis its aromatic diversity.
TERMS APPLIED TO FINISHED GOODS
- Full spectrum: Distillate oil made up of hundreds of cannabinoids embedded in the cannabis plant. Primary cannabinoids are CBD and THC.
- Broad Spectrum: Distillate oil made up of hundreds of cannabinoids embedded in the cannabis plan, but has the THC removed.
- THC Free: THC Free products are typically made with isolate or 100% CBD with zero THC in the finished good.

Proprietary Extraction Process

CO2 Extraction
- During extraction, post decarboxylation (removal of CO2 gas), the material is loaded into the extraction baskets and lowered into the solvent vessels.
- During the run, the solvent is manipulated into a super fluid state and altered for specific extractions, targeting the CBD trichromes on the plant material.
- Post extraction, the crude oil is removed and prepared for distillation, and the solvent/gas is then recycled for reuse.

Ethanol Winterization/Extraction
- Winterization is performed by using -60C ethanol in order to physically remove plants lipids and fats.
- By doing, so we are able to create a distillate that is 90%+ pure and optically clear.
- This process, although a bit slower than other methods, produces an oil that is rich in cannabinoids and terpenes to capture the full healing power of the hemp plant.
- We remove the ethanol from the oil using a Spray Vap (falling film evaporation).
- The oil is then further processed and tested for CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids.

Distillation Process
- Once we have generated the hemp oil, we can either go directly into formulation of product, OR, now have the capability to further refine the oil for specific applications.
- The instrument shown here is used to remove any detectable THC from the oil for the production of CBD isolate or THC-free products.

Isolation of CBD
- For proper isolation, the distillate must be prepared for introduction into the nutsche filter. From here, a solvent can be introduced for creation of gelatinous type material when mixed with distillate.
- In order to create molecular alignment, the gel must be manipulated with heat and cold. This will trigger a crystalline cake to form. Once this is completed, the isolated CBD can be cleaned to achieve a potency of 99.9% CBD.

- The formula is then put into manufacturing for product generation.
- In Q3, Panacea is able to produce over 1.65 million soft gels per day.
- Resulting soft gels are then tested and (only if they pass QC) packaged into pouches or bottles.
- Production of V-gel encapsulation in Q3.

Liquid Fill Manufacturing
- Panacea is able to produce over 10,000 liquid fills per day.
- Liquid fill formula (for tinctures, lotions, cremes, gummies, etc.) is generated and then tested and only if it passes QC will be filled into bottles.
- Liquid fill formula is transferred to manufacturing to be filled into bottles or jars.
