Francine demonstrates empathy by providing Diva cups to people who are low income and in need (Social Impact Program – ShopDiva US, n.d.). She uses empathy to deal with conflict (D'Souza, 2011, 1967). She recognizes what others are going through. She is able to also be sustainable for the environment. Chambers is thinking about the techniques needed for mastering empathy. Instead of thinking “why should I be concerned about other people using menstrual products when I am all good with the diva cup”. She made and created a cup and sent them out to help others save money and help mother earth. I believe she wants us to use empathy in educational settings, she doesn’t want us to be sad but she wants people who can help to help others. Chambers connected with others when finding the Diva Cup company. She connected with her daughter to find ways to build confidence in people and not let them continue how they sometimes feel when it comes down to being on your period.
