Domestic/ Dating Violence
A pattern of abusive behavior that is used
by an intimate partner to gain or
maintain power and control over the other
intimate partner.
Vandalism, Simple Assault, Sexual Assault
Sexual Harassment
Offers of sex for favors (Better grades,
benefits, prevent trouble, etc)
Unwelcome
The recipient of the behavior does not want
behavior to happen
Sexual Assault
Engaging in physical sexual activity without
the consent of the other person.
An act of sexual assault may involve:
Physical force, violence, threat, or
intimidation
Ignoring the objections of the other person.
Consent
Consisting of an affirmative, unambiguous,
conscious decision by each participant to
engage in mutually agreed-upon sexual
activity.
Consent can only be given when a person is not
INCAPACITATED:
One must be physically and mentally able to make
informed, rational judgments.
NOT unconscious, sleeping, or blacked out
