After 15 people were killed in the Columbine High School shooting in 1999, we were promised a change. In 2007, a man armed with two pistols killed 33 people and injured 23 at Virgina Tech. Around 13 years after, a man killed 28 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School. 20 of those people were in first grade ages 6 to 7. In 2018, 17 people were shot and killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Flordia by a former student who was expeled for behavior issuses. Theses are 4 of the largest school shootings in America. The total amount of people who were killed is 93 people. The US has had almost 300 school shooting since 2013.

The Parkland Shooting

On February 14, 2018, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, former student of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, killed 17 people and injured 17 people as well. Nikolas had behavior issues which led to his expulsion or the High School. Many believe this was his motive for the shooting.

Motive

Hagop Asadourian

Community

Connection

- Hagop Asadourian talks about how "we need to beg nations to recongize Genocide".

- Students and Teachers need to "beg" school boards and the government to make

better evacuation plans incase of a shooting.

- Hagop says we live in a "terrible world" due to the fact we need to beg people to

believe that Genocide happened

- The US has had over 20 school shootings this year and our goverment and school

boards haven't issued a change. Students are scared to go to school.

"We are living in a terible world"

Plan

We need:

- Better evacuation plans for schools

- Better security in schools

- To teach students and teachers the signs

- To spread awarness
