Early life of Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse was born September 14, 1983 in London, England. She was born into a Jewish family and for most of her life was raised by her mother. She had a liking for arts when at a young age but apparently she was thrown out of Sylvia Young theatre school for having a nose ring in. By the age of 16, Winehouse she started preforming with jazz groups at her school.

It was said that she has been a determined and stubborn girl since she was young. Soon after her parents got devorced, Winehouse became a rebel. She would smoke, get tattoos, drink and, skip school all arond the age of 12-13. Her parents devorced sparked a plug into her substance abuse bacsue she thought that she now had more independence.

Her first album came out on October 20th, 2003, it was called "frank". The album hiknted at her substance problems and basically talking about her struggles in her life. One songt on the album called "Mr.Magic" hinted at her drinking/drug problem. Soon after the album was realed she genuinely started to struggle with drinking/drugs. During this time she met Blake Fielder-Civil who brought her down with him. This is where Amy started really going down. He had intrduced her to all these hard drugs like heroin.

Her and Blake Fielder-Civil eventually broke up because he was in and out of prison and it was toxic. That didnt stop her from doing drugs/ drinking. She was in to deep. She said in an interview "“If you’re a musician, and you have things you want to get out, you write music, You don’t want to be settled, because when you’re settled you might as well call it a day.” That year (2006), she realed her song "Back to Black" which was a hit. It had given her 5 Grammy Awards. The lyrics explained her heartbreak and addictions. Her song "Rehab" woudl show that her substance abuse was getting pretty bad.

The ending

Winehouse had attempted to go to rehabd, but she was only there for a short amount of time. Time over time, her addiction kept getting worse and worse. A couple of weeks before her passing, she was on tour in 2011. The first show she had done in Belgrade,Serbia, she was too drunk to perform. During this show she was booed of teh stage because of her slurring her words. After that one show she cnaceled it and this was her final show. She had passed a couple weeks later due to alcohol poisoning.
