This hurricane took place through August 29 - September 10, 1935.

What Areas were Affected?

The areas that were affected were The Bahamas, Florida Keys, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, New Jersey, New England, Maryland, Delaware, New York, and Florida Panhandle.

How did they Prepare?

They prepared like all the other Hurricanes. They got sand bags, they bored up windows, got food and water for many days to come, they got on the highest level of there house as possible on the inside, and they got all of their family and pets together.

What Category was it?

When hurricane "Labor Day" hit land it was a category five but then dropped to four, then three, then two, then finally one.

The affects were really bad. There was a total of 435 deaths in hurricane "Labor Day". Damages to houses include destroying every structure in the upper Florida Keys, trees getting blown down, and close to 260 were World War 1 Veterans.
