1850

Francis Tumblety went to Detroit where he started his own practice as an Indian herb doctor

1857

The Fall - In Montreal, Francis made himself known as a prominent physician

September 23rd - Francis was arrested for attempting to abort the pregnancy of a local prostitute, Philomene Dumas.

October 1st - Francis was released from prison.

1860

July - Francis left Montreal and went to Saint John

September - A patient of Francis’s named James Portmore died while taking medicine prescribed by Tumblety. Francis fleed the town for Calais Maine and from there he travelled to Boston.

December - With the outbreak of the American Civil War, Francis moved to the capital and put on the airs of a Union army surgeon

1860

Francis travels between America and Europe between the late 1860's until 1880

1888

May - Francis sails to West East London

June - Francis Tumblety returns to Liverpool

August 31st - At 3:40 am the body of Mary Anne Nicholas is discovered in Bucks Row

September 8th - The body of Annie Chapman was found in the backyard of 29th Hanbury Street

1888

September 10th - The Mile End Vigilance Committee is set up to help assist in finding the killer

September 27th - A letter addressed ‘Dear Boss’ arrives at The Central News Agency

September 30th - Two murders are committed in one hour. Elizabeth Stride was found an 1 am in Berner Street. At 1:45 am the body of Catherine Eddowes is discovered in Mitre Square in London. Now the city police are involved.

1888

October 1st - The police lets the public know about the letter from Jack the Ripper

October 6th - A second letter is sent to the Central News Agency

October 16th 1888 - Mr George Lusk, a founder member of the Mile End Vigilance Committee receives a letter ‘From Hell’ with half a kidney. The press believed it belonged to Catherine Eddowes.

1888

November 9th - Mary Kelly is found dead in Dorest Street, Spitfield

November 12th 1888 - Francis was charged on suspicion of the Whitechapel murders but was bailed out, four days later (the 16th)

November 23, 1888 - Francis Tumblety sneaked out of England and went to Boulogne, France
