Adoption that is both open and closed?

Introducing a Semi-open adoption

Semi-Open

Adoption

In a semi-open adoption their can be some kind of contact between the adopted child's birth parents and adoptive parents through the means of a mediator or not

So why should we get rid of closed adoption?

Well one of the main reasons that we should get rid of closed adoption is because it is already almost completely nonexistent!

Getting rid of closed adoption

Also, closed adoption leave a lot of room for error in important information on the children and their family history.

The 5%

Only 5% of adoptions are considered to be fully closed. These adoptions, although the minority, are the cause for thousands of children's that are still left with hundreds of questions about their birth parents that will never be answered. Giving that 5% back to those children can ensure that every child, feels secure in themselves and the families that they live in

Conclusion

Overall open adoption really helps the child, adoptive family, and biological parents feel secure in their decisions. An open communication increases a healthy relationship between all parties involved. I'm not saying that an open adoption solves every problem an adopted child faces, but understanding their background and feeling secure in who they are, leads to healthy long-lasting, trusting relationships
