  • Was made popular by bands such as Rites of Spring and Embrace
  • Reinvented as a type of indie rock and pop punk in the mid-1990s
  • Emo culture was on the rise

Emo Peak

  • Emo broke into mainstream culture in the early 2000s

  • some bands moved away from their emo roots and some disbanded

Twenty One Pilots. Emo or no?

The answer is no. Twenty One Pilots is not emo. They are Alternative hip-hop, and maybe electropop but not rock or emo obviously. While im on the topic of genres, Panic! at the Disco isn't emo either. They're pop rock and pop punk.

How to be emo

  • pretty much just let your emotions fly free
  • listen to bands inclosed in this presentation
  • dont be fake
  • dont let anyone give you hell
  • wear what you want

Hair Care

take good care of your hair! You can dye it any color you want jut make sure you take well enough care of it.wash it wel and use conditioner. straighten it when you want but use leave in conditioner as much as possible

Accessories

you can wear band tees, ripped jeans, chucks, converse, or vans, chokers, belts, wrist cuffs, and much more. the style is up to you

why you should be emo

people in the emo community take care of eachother. wedont judge others and we dont care what you look like or how much money you have. make sure youre emo for the right reasons though. not everyone would enjoy it.

pros and cons

there are many pros and cons to being emo. Emo culture is commonly misunderstood and treated badly.

Pros

  • youll be accepted by eveery emo you meet, in fact, theyll be happy to know another emo
  • you can wear whatever you want
  • you can dye your hair crazy colors
  • you can get lots of piercings
  • you literally never have to go outside

Cons

  • people outside of the emo culture will misundeerstand you and judge you
  • you might get bullied or whatever
  • its actually kinda depressing but thats okay
