The effects of Mao's five-year plan on the Farmers

Mao's five-year plan went into action mainly because the Soviets pulled their resources and other help from Chain. Causing Mao to set fourth his five-year plan

Mao wanted to become known as the leader who was able to become a Industrial Power house to prove the Soviets wrong about China

Because Mao wanted to be an industrial power, he did a lot of damage to his people by creating smelters out of farmers, which caused the beginnings of a great famine.

Wanted freedom from being dependent on other countries

Farmers lost their land

The effects on our lives

The effects to the farmers lasted for many years. Over 75,000 people lost their lives before Mao admitted that his five-year plan was a bad idea. He gave the chance to fix the issue But the damage was already done. Still to this day man another person in his political camp. WE have learned form this mistake by not rushing into major changes.

I strongly believe that it's important to pass on our history to the next generation, so they can understand the past better. Also so they can learn from the mistakes made in the past, so they don't repeat the same mistakes.
