Outcome

The Versailles Treaty:

1. Stripped Germany of 13% of its territory and

1/10 of its population.

2. The Rhineland was occupied by Allied Troops

and demilitarized.

3. Germany colonies were taken over by the

League of Nations

4. The Germany army was reduced to 100,000

men and it could not raise and train any more

troops.

5. All of its weapons were confiscated. Its navy was stripped of the large war vessels.

6. The emperor was put on trial for war crimes.

7. They were solely responsible for the war reparations. 269 billion gold marks ($37 billion)

After the War

The phrase they wanted included in the Treaty was that all nations and peoples be equal and receive just treatment "without regard to race or nationality"
