The geography and climate are a key part to living
The southern colonies have very important geographical landforms that will help us improve our colony safely
Here in the southern colonies we have many important geographical landforms, one being flatland. As you may know, flatland is perfect for constructing shops and homes for people who decide to live here. As you also may know, constructing more shops and homes will help us make a bigger and better economy for the people
The climate here in the southern colonies is the warmest of all the colonies, so we don't have to worry about the freezing cold winters. Which is a very good thing because some freezing cold winters could be deadly, due to starvation if you happen to run out of food, or you could get sick or get something called hypothermia. Hypothermia is a medical emergency that occurs when your body loses heat faster than it can produce heat, causing a dangerously low body temperature, which is not a very good thing.
IN 1632, Charles I, England's new king, gave part of Virginia to Lord Baltimore, one of his followers. This new colony was called Maryland. Lord Baltimore belonged to the Catholic Church, so he welcomed other Catholics who were not always accepted into other colonies.
In 1732, King George II, let James Oglethorpe start a colony (Georgia) for british people jailed for debt. Oglethorpe was welcomed by Tomochichi, cheif of the Yamacraws. Georgia became known for it's good relations with American Indians, all thanks to Oglethorpe.
The natural resources in the southern colonies are extremely important and will help make bigger and better colonies for everyone
The timber in the southern colonies is one of many reasons that you should join us here in the south. We could use our timber for future homes and shops leading to more people. More people means a larger economy and greater success in the New World.
Our rich soil is perfect for growing cash crops like tobacco and rice. If we grow more and more cash crops, our colonies would be rich! We could use our money along with the timber we have, to build a bigger and better economy for everyone.
Jobs are very important in any colonies, not just the southern colonies.
The farmers here are very important because they grow all of the cash crops like rice and tobacco so that we can sell them to make money and use the money to make everyones life here easier.
The blacksmiths are very important because they make things like spades, shovels, and rakes. they also make parts of wheels for wagons and carriages.
