THE GAME OF NAME CHANGING

Established in 1910 as 'Imperial Tobacco Company of India Limited'

Renamed as 'India Tobacco Company Limited' in 1970

Again changed to 'I.T.C. Limited' in 1974.

in September 2001, the dots were removed and it was then 'ITC Limited' where 'ITC' was no longer an acronym.

RANKS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Ranked 35th in terms of revenue in the list of the ET 500 companies, 2018.

Earned the prestigious Banga Bibhushan award, the highest civilian honour instituted by the Government of West Bengal in 2017.
