Netiquette is etiquette on the Internet. Since the Internet changes rapidly, its netiquette does too, but it's still usually based on the Golden Rule.
The need for a sense of netiquette arises mostly when sending or distributing e-mail, posting on Usenet groups, or chatting.
Do keep the chat relevant to everyone:
Sometimes it’s more than annoying too - if one person in the group can’t make it to a social engagement the rest of you are all attending, they can start to feel left out if you discuss it at length in the chat.
Do use the group for support:
One of the best things about a group chat is that if you need someone to talk to, there’s usually at least one of your friends who can reply straight away.
Don’t get into in-depth conversations or arguments:
Do bear in mind other people’s lives:
Whilst you might be able to be sneakily on Whatsapp all day while sitting at your desk at work, not all your friends may have this luxury, and it’s important to remember that.
1. Read the message? Do, at least, a courtesy reply
2. Show some patience for the party/vacation photos
3. Stop being a pest
4. Display pictures are to be seen, not probed
5. Don’t overuse emoji
6. Be clear in both words and approach
7. Avoid being part of a rumour chain
8. Follow some unstated rules of group chat
9. Why to forward all forwarded messages?
10. Wait for a reply before moving on to different unrelated topic
