Continuing to build off of last week’s lesson about what goes into an interview, we will take a moment to reflect on the semester’s lessons thus far and review what we learned
OBJECTIVES
We will 1) reflect on what’s you’ve learned about the job application process thus far, 2) demonstrates their understanding of why it’s important to have this knowledge and 3) participate in an activity that allows them to process what you’ve learned
In pairs, turn to the person next to you and discuss:
1) one thing you’ve learned thus far and
2) one thing that may be unclear but you want to know

There are 5 steps to obtaining work as a high school student:
1) Obtain Working Papers
2) Develop A Resume

As someone under the age of 18 you require working papers.
Working papers serve as your official employment certificate. Working papers were established to make sure businesses do not work you too many hours while you are in school and in the summer as well.
You receive your working papers from your school guidance counselor's office.
A resume describes your skills, experience, training, and education. Employers use resumes to quickly see whether your background fits their job opening
As a high school student, resumes create an opportunity for you to introduce yourself to an employer and highlight your academic achievements and life experiences thus far.
