The inventor's name is Alan Shugart
He was born on September 27th, 1930
He was born in Los Angeles, California
Education: Engineer(?)
His high school is unknown.
He went to college at University of Redlands
His career is being an engineer, entreprenuer, and
business executive.
While he was doing his career, he was still in California.
He died on December 12th, 2006.
He created one of the first ever portable storage devices, called the Floppy Disk.
The name of the invention is the Floppy Disk.
It was released in 1971.
It allowed you to store data on something that you can take around, it lets you store data and launch any data stored on the device as well.
There were many MANY useful things created because of this. Hard drives, USB drives, and SD cards are an example of this. DVDs and discs were also inspired by this too, allowing you to launch lots more data with it being smaller.
Many old computers used to have a slot that allowed you to insert the floppy disk in. Of course now they don't have it, but it's still pretty cool and conveinent.
Even though they haven't been produced in so long, some people still use them. They can only store about 2 megabytes, but it's still somewhat useful for storing stuff like financial info.
I mainly just got my info from Google, and also some from Wikipedia as well except there was barely any.
