I can't believe that this is the office I walk into on most days,

My very own consulting biz, my very own peace space!

I get to spend my every day helping others shine,

I focus on small businesses, aiding in vision and design

I empower them to define the culture that they want,

I interview, gap analyze, I listen to them talk.

I learn about their visions, I learn about their lives,

I simply host this process, I rarely give advice

My role is not to lead them, it's they who make them strong

It's just my job to point that out, sometimes help them get along

By holding space for conflict, by making room for vision

It's quite amazing the leaps they make moving through derision

I often use my expertise beyond formatting visions

I also facilitate the process of making hard decisions

I help these organizations become teams of folks that learn,

That evolve and grow together, that work, spark joy, and earn.

I occassionally work with others through co-facilitation

I even bring in a family therapist in some business situations

I know I'm not an expert and I'd love to have a team

But I just started my business--that's my 2030 dream!

The red light flashing on my phone, the emails I receive

The calendar on the wall nearby, the travel plans I see

My connections in the States (and my ability to charge in CAD)

Make employing me out of Montreal not seem half bad!

I often host on Zoom calls,

But there's nothing like in-person.

It's nice to have both options

Since the world's not plagued with Covid

The Fam

Although not us I do so love the way this represents,

Our family, our son and daughters, our crazy special kids

We managed the adoptions, my two are now her own

There truly are not words for the amount of love she's shown.

These kids are all grown up these days and we've done a few more trips!

I even made a movie of our best scuba diving clips.

Preston, he has graduated, Em is in grade nine

Its truly hard to believe, what happened to the time?

My wife carried our little one,

They're now four years old!

They like to swing and swim and dance,

So many stories to be told

They love their biggest brother and their big sister too

They cannot wait until they can start to go to school!

Kona is our shaggy pup

She's now six years old

She still protects her family, her bark still sounds quite bold!

She's mellowed out a little and has given up scaring guests

We all would say her presence has made each of us quite blessed!

My goal to share my light has put my focus on the source,

I do yoga weekly, meditate, and self-reflect some more.

If I'm to give then I must have and it is up to me to find

The time to sit, be with myself, to be one with my mind.

I finally have found balance,

I finally got it right,

Between my children, my work, myself, my friends and family, and my wife

No longer do I stretch myself for the sake of saying yes

Twisted to a pretzel, I once lived life in set-distress

I have learned to create boundaries, learned to pause before I offer,

My choices impact everyone and I'm my choice's author

And guess what! I'm Canadian, legit with a passport

My French is nearly passable,

And hockey's my favorite sport!

I'm a Montreal Canadiens fan, I've been to many games,

Oh and I've been back to Europe, seen Tower Bridge across the Thames!
