Job Creation

Job

Creation

While the pipeline is being built, yes many jobs will be created. But once the pipe is complete which should happen in a couple years, there will only be 90 permanent jobs.

How safe is it?

How Safe is

it?

The short answer: Not very. There will be more oil tanker traffic, which makes the roads more dangerous. Also, the stuff that comes out of the ground, is called bitumen, also known as asphalt. It is solid, and the easiest way to make it flow through a pipeline is to mix it with a toxic diluent. If this mix spills, it is nearly impossible to clean up.

COST

The cost of creating this pipeline ALONE is 7.4 billion dollars.

Extension of the pipe

Possible

Problems?

-The main pipe is already done

- What we oppose is the building of the expansion of the pipeline.

- It was just approved this year, so the building has not started.

In conclusion

- It will cost 7.4 billion

- The Extension of the Trans Mountain Pipeline should not be built

Conclusion

- It will harm our environment

- It will not supply as many permanent jobs as you think

- The main pipe is finished, but the extension has not been built yet
