THE BIG BOUNCE THEORY

Explanation

The theory that the universe was born out of a expansion from an infinitely dense state, beginning with essentially nothing.

THE BIG BANG

THEORY

Difference from The Big Bounce Theory

  • The Big Bounce theory was a universe interpretation of the Big Bang theory

  • The Big Bounce gives an idea of starting from nothing and the result after expansion. While the Big Bang theory talks mainly about expansion.

Difference

Explanation

The Big Bounce theory claims that the universe is cyclic, meaning that our current universe as formed after the collapse of a previous universe and

these cosmological events are repeated.

compare and

Compare and

Contrast

  • The Big Bounce theory claims that the universe is cyclic and that following the expansion of the Big Bang theory the universe will collapse
  • While the Big Bang theory is commonly known, the Big Bounce theory is not due to its complexity
  • Both theories agree with the idea that the universe is expanding, but does not explain what happens following the expansion

Support

How it Supports the Big Bang Theory

At the Penn State Institute for Gravitational Physics and Geometry, scientists have used this theory to trace our universe backward in time and have found that its beginning point had a minimum volume that is NOT zero and a maximum energy that is not infinite. Thus, this eliminates the possiblity of singularity, the moment of infinite energy and zero volume. The Big Bounce Theory proposes a theory that can account for this discrepency in the Big Bang Theory. The Big Bounce theory because it gives the result of the Big Bang.
