Vermeer was a fabulous painter and one who painted in a classic style. Vermeer was a common painter whose paintings gained fame sfter he died. The gils in his paintings all look very similar. We don't know who is the models or even if he used models. He did oil on canvas paintings and first did portraits and then got into landscapes. There are 36 total paintings that have been found in the world but there might be more?! His life was full of mysteries .

Reynier JAnsz,Vermeer's father was born in 1951 in Delft.In 1615 Jansz,then a silkweafveer married Digna Baltens in Amsterdam.Thry marry on July 18.Reynier was 24 years old.He was admitted into the Guild of Saint Luke in 1631.He died in 1652,October 12.

In 1652,April 20 Vermeer married q Catherina Bolnes in Schipluiden,a small village near Delft.He and Catherina had 15 children together.Fransiscus,Catharina,Cornelia,Maria,Aleydis,Beatrix,Elisabeth,Ignatius,Gertryud,and Johannes Jr.

Vermeer's way of painting `jewelry was coloring it one color then using a stroke of white on the top of it! Wow!Vermeer had an unknown apprentice!
