When Jacob was born he moved to east-on, Pennsylvania at age of 2, after that is parents split and his mother made a choice to send him and his other siblings to a foster care in Philadelphia while she went to work in new york. at the age of 13 Jacob and his sibling reunited with their mother and that’s when he got inspired to do art.
While he was living in new york he was sent to school and started to take after school art programs but later dropped out at the age of 16, he continued his work by going to classes at the Harlem art workshop with mentor-ship of Charles Alston. While living in Harlem, new york in 1937 Jacob won a scholarship to american artist school in new york, when he graduated in 1939 he got funding's from work progress administration federal art project, but during this time Jacob had already made his own style of modernism, creating narrative series, and painting 30 or more portraits from one subject

JID was born October 31, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia. His parents were Kathy and Carl route,he is the youngest out of his six siblings. The moniker J.I.D came from his grandmother calling him jittery as a child because of his behavior. Growing up, J.I.D first connection with music was through his parent's collection of classic funk and soul LP's.
J.I.D attended stephens high school where he played football and ran track. he led stephenson to a regional championship in 2007 - 2008. J.I.D high school accolades include all-regional first team defense back and all-state honorable mention. after earning a scholarship at hampton university, virginia to play football, during that time he got together with some fellow Mcs (Master of ceremoy) Spillage village collective. By 2012 JID dropped out of college to focus on making music.
In 2014 he went on a productive tour with EarthGang, Bas, and Ab-Soul. Touring for JID allowed him to hone his skills and quickly shifting to lyrical style that stood out in a sea of soundalike rappers. A year later he dropped his first album DiCaprio EP which lead him to team up with a host of producers. While he distance himself from the generic abrasive trap sound that had dominated the Atlanta scene, JID wanted to deliver something that was more than just about a beat, and instead focused his time and effort on lyrics as well. He soon later signed to j.cole dreamville records and beginning with the never story album. He described himself “ as a soft spoken but intricate lyricist with a cocky side “
Nas, Jay-Z and Arctic Monkeys was his biggest influences. He also said fellow Atlanta artists OutKast, T.I., Goodie Mob and Gucci Mane as influences
