Theodore Roosevelt is the 26th president of the United States. Not only is he important because he’s the president, but he’s also important because he expanded the power of presidency, the federal government, and foreign policy. He’s also known for trust-busting which means breaking up monopolies. He’s also a founder of the progressive party
Chester Arthur was the 21st president of the United States. He took over the presidency 2 months after James A. Garfield was assassinated. To be honest I chose J.P Morgan because of the Bank called JP Morgan. I could swear I heard his name before and that’s why I looked him up and decided to select JP Morgan.
I chose Theodore Roosevelt because was the president, and he got rid of some monopolies.
Chester was chosen because I found that he served in the civil war which I thought was cool, and he made our Navy stronger.
Upton Sinclair was selected because he spread the word of the bad conditions of the meatpacking industry and him doing that probably got the people that work in that industry better working conditions.
I chose Lincoln Steffens because he seems like he was the investigative kind of person which is interesting.
I chose Thomas Nast because he’s the father of cartoons which is really cool. Everybody watches cartoons nowadays.
I purposely sat Roosevelt, Morgan, and Chester together because I think they're the people with the most power. Now i also sat Roosevelt and Chester next to each other because they were both presidents. I sat Sinclair and Steffens together because they both seem like the investigative type of people so they could get along great. Nast, Sinclair and steffens sit together because if you can look at a cartoon you can read a book, now those things aren't quite related but in a way they are.
Now i think Sinclair and Steffens can talk about a problem that they feel needs to be addressed since they addressed some problems in their books
Roosevelt and Chester would talk about who was the better president, and maybe talk about how the current president is doing.
Morgan would talk to Roosevelt about how his businesses are going.
Nast would talk to Sinclair and Steffens about his cartoon drawings and how he makes them.
