I am heading to the beach next week, for vacation, and it’s a long drive! My destination is 1,000 miles away. I’m really wanting to stop at the midpoint to eat lunch, but I’m not sure how many miles I have to drive before the midpoint. How many miles do you think I need to drive before stopping?

All of the animals are trying to play a game, but someone says that each side must be equal. "What is equal?" bear says. What does equal mean to you?

Let's use our knowledge of place value and expanded form to compare the animal's weights and determine if their game of tug-of-war would be equal.
