Canada's contribution to the wars has been very positive throughout the years. From the early stages of WWI to the advanced war of WWII, Canada has been on top of its adversaries. This room is comprised of three Canadian artifacts that shaped our role in the war efforts, and highlighting Canadian dominance.
During the events of WWI Canada created a gun that would help the war efforts massivly. The Bren gun was a high fire rate weapon with a large magazine that was invented by Whirlpool Canada. The troops described it as "robust" hence their fondness of the weapon. This weapon is truly a great example of the Canadian manufactuing ability.
June 6th, 1944, the "Day of Deliverence. D Day was a defining battle in the second war in which 156,000 troops deployed of which 30,000 were Canadian. Although the battle was a success it left an impact on many families. This hemet is from a Brave Canadian soldier who gave his life to serve and protect his country. A sacrifice that we are forever grateful for.
This is a mortar shell from the Korean conflict in 1950. Canada stepped in to aid South Korea from the wrongful invasion. Canada sent in 30,000 soldiers to help fight back in several key battles and engagements. This highlighted Canada's rush to help those in need which has stuck with the country ever since.

The Canadian team was allowed to play the NHL players on their national roster allowing for the best possible team out of canada. during the cold was tensions this series was a political battle much more then hockey that changed the state of the war and Canada as the citizens were united like never before.
In 1984, Gaétan Boucher became the first Canadian to win a individual gold medal. The speed skater pulled off this historic feat just four years after getting a bronze. This Canadian exellence is what athletes strive for.
In 2019, Kawhi Lenord and the Toronto raptors made Canadian sports history by winning the first championhip Canada has ever held. The team had a poetic run, and the shot against the 76ers will go down in history.
Canada has has many ecnomic uproars in which the quality of life was very high. However, they have also had some of the worst deppresions and crashes. This room shows the good and bad of the Canadian economy over the years.
During the 30's Canada fell into a economic down pour in which inflation reached new highs and jobs became scarce. This was a very dark time for Canadian citizens as families struggled to feed and take care of themselves and their children.
Following the end of WWI Canada and its economy was pushed into full swing as they sold and traded their war goods to countries recovering from the war. Due to the battle not being faught on Canadian grond, the homefront was able to create many job opeings which created an upward cycle that propelled Canadas economy.

During the 80's a downturn that rivaled the deppression of the 30's had begun. Many Factories were closed and farms were foreclosed as bankruptcies rose.. This economic state made many Canadian rely on food banks due to the high price of produce.

In june, 1817, the bike was debuted in Canada. This invention would revalutionize transportation forever. The lightweight and small cycle allowed for indivual travel in record times. This is an orginal bike from its early years.
The presence of automobiles and cars was immence. This engineering created a new beggining for Canada and the world as getting to work and back became efficent and fast. Life changed in all aspects from this creation.
