Main idea

The main idea of Diary Entry #2 is Anne explaing to us what happend on Sunday, and how her father was called up. Then hello came over and Margot(Anne's 16 year old sister) told Anne that the call up was not meant for her father, instead it was meant for Margot herself. This made Anne realize what her father meant when he talked to her about going into hiding. Questions Anne wasn't allowed to ask kept running through her mind as she started packing her most important belongings into a school bag with Margot. This is when we learned that Anne cared

Main Idea

more about memories then dresses as she put the stuff that meant the most to her into her school bag.

Quote Analysis

"Memories mean more to me than dresses"

This quote is meaningful because it shows who Anne really is. She's a smart little girl who cares about her family and was just unfortunate to end up in such a time. She doesn't care as much for her dresses and would much rather keep her important memories.

Quote Analysis

Question

Why did Anne seem so relunctant about hiding?

Predictions

Questions and predictions

I predict that Anne and her family will find a safe place to hide and get through their hardships.

Reflection

Throughout this Entry I found it captivating how Anne was so strong about the fact that she is living in a horrible and cruel time for jews like herself. It also facinated me how brave she is and how much more she cares about her precious memorys then some dresses. I can't exactly relate to Anne because me and her were born in very different times where as all she knew was crualty and war whilst I am born in a safer and less corupt time.
