Structuralism

-experimental and cultural psychologist

- father of experiemental psychology, separated psychology from philosophy and biology, and was the first person to ever be called a psychologist

Wilhelm Wundt

Wilhelm Wundt is commonly known as the father of experiemental psychology; additionally, he set up the first labaratory solely dedicated to experiemental psychology. The methods Wundt used are now known as structuralism, which is a well known type of psychology used today. Wundt also wrote the first textbook of pyschology and created a process called introspection.

- wrote "The Principles of Psychology",

was a main contributer to functionalism, referred to as the "Father of American Psychology"

William James

William James was one of the first leading psychologists in America, which led him to be known as "the Father of American Psychology". He was a professor for several years at Havard during which he wrote several peices: "Principles of Psychology" and "Pragmatism". Additionally, he founded one of the first psychology labs in the United States.

Ivan Pavlov was Russian scientist, who actually was not an actual psychologist; however, his work aided the studies that were taking part in the field of psychology. Pavlov discovered classical conditioning with his well known experiements on dogs. He was a major contributor to the idea of behaviorism.

Inez Beverly Prosser

Carl Rogers is one of the most refferenced psychologsits to this day. His emphasis on client-centered and humanistic psychology led him to be relevant in modern times. He is remebred as a writer, educator, and therapist. Additionally, he wrote the books: "Client Centered Therapy: Its Current Practice, Implications, and Theory" and "On Becoming a Person: A Therapists View of Psychotherapy".

Carlton Goodlet, PhD

-push for civil rights, helped african americans win the rights to see patients at all public hospitals in San Fransisco

Carlton Goodlet abided in San Fransisco where he had his own independent practice. However, he was restricted to only being able to see his patients in his office due to segregation. Goodlet used his newspaper and resources to ensure he and his fellow doctors would no longer be constricted in San Fransisco. He also pushed for civil rights, a better quality of life, and social coditions. Goodlet is remebred for being an activist for African American men and women.
