Cinder Volcano
Cinder Volcanoes are built from particles and blobs of congealed lava ejected from a single vent. As the lava is blown violently out and into the air, it breaks into small pieces that hardens and falls around the cinder's vent to form a circular or oval on it. Some of the cinder cones have a bowl like crater at the top of it. Cinder cones develop from explosive eruptions of mafic.
Most cinder cone volcanoes are pretty small but in Hawaii you will see some big ones. Cinder cones are most commonly found on the sides of shield volcanoes, stratovolcanoes, and calderas For example, geologist have found about 100 cinder cones next to Mauna Kea.
About
On this website you will learn about three different types of volcanoes. Shield, Cinder, Caldera. How these volcanoes were made and what makes them different to other volcanoes
Shield Volcano
Shield volcanoes are in the shape of a flat dome and is formed by layers of lava. Shield volcanoes are formed by a lot of layers of erupted lava or molten magma that formed deep within the earth and has gotten to the surface. The lava builds slopes around the volcanic vent.
Shield volcanoes are some of the biggest volcanoes in the world. For example Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. Which both can be found in Hawaii. Some other are Piton de la Fournaise, on the island of Réunion, in the Indian Ocean Fernandina, and a volcanic island in the Galápagos Islands.
Caldera Volcano
Caldera volcanoes are made from two ways, first way an explosive volcanic eruption and, second collapse of surface rock rock into an empty magma chamber. Caldera can be bigger than the largest shield volcanoes in diameter.
You can find some caldera volcanoes at Yellowstone National Park and Long Valley. These were also created from explosive eruptions. Some other well known calderas are santorini ( which is in the agean sea), and the toba caldera (which you can find in Indonesian island of sumatra).
