This story unfolds as the four children, with an adventurous scout, Finn, meet Hawkers (clans seeking skins of Spirit Animals), then a elderly man with healing powers, leads a vast majority of Spirit Animals such as a wild cat, a horse, a snake, a weasel, and a mythical black panther with their owners through a forest in the world of Erdas. While in battle they meet a wealthy Landowner. Their negotiations with the wealthy landowner test their cleverness and initiative personalities. I don't want to spoil this amazing book so you will have to read the rest !
This book took place in a world called Erdas in the 1500s. The climate in Erdas was warm and rainy. You could compare it to a tropical rainforest.
My Reasons To Read This
One of the main reasons to read this book in my opinion is that it is unbelievably detailed. It uses very descriptive words to tell an amazing story. I would definitely recommend this to readers who are 8-12 years of age and are in 3rd-7th grade. I give this book 5 stars.
The theme of this book for me was team work. The reason I chose teamwork was because it took all of the kids to achieve the one goal they were trying to reach. I knew this because the main characters were always using teamwork to reach the goal.
