A Red Panda is one of the many beautiful creatures that has a home in the mountains of Nepal. Unfortunately, the population of the red pandas are rapidely decreasing. The scientific name for the red panda is the Ailurus Fulgens. They also have large wrist bones and a sixth "thumb" which are useful for feeding.

The only known habitat for the red panda is in one of the most extrodinarely beautiful place that is on Earth, the mountains of Nepal. Red Pandas unfortunately have a lot of problems while living in a place with so many species. These other animals can cause problems like a lot of competition for the same types of plants and Red Pandas, considering the fact that they are near the bottom of the food chain, they also have a lot of predators.
Most Pandas would eat Bamboo and other common plants found in the area of there homes, but red pandas will eat nuts, berrries and all sorts of plants and go out of there comfort zone to get them. They eat bamboo, fruits, acorns, and eggs. As you know now, red pandas have a very wide-spread food palete. They get there food by climbing trees and hunting in the forest.
Red Pandas have been an endangered species for a while and there population is decreasing rapidly. There are less than 10,000 induvidual red pandas located in Nepal, so time is ticking! They are mostly endangered because of the fierce competition to get fruit and nuts, and so many other animals will fight over food including the red panda. Red Pandas also have many predators including the snow lepards, martens, and birds of prey.
