beginning summary
In the beginning of the book "Nerd Camp" the main character Gabe found out that he is getting a stepbrother whose name is Zack. When he goes to New York City to see his dad and meet Zack and Carla, Carla is Gabe's dad's soon-to-be-wife. He finds out that Zack is a normal kid, Gabe is a very smart kid who is in the gifted program and going to the Summer Center for Gifted Enrichment. when he gets there he meets his bunkmates Wesley and Nikhil. Later we meet a annoying girl named Amanda who is in Gabe's Poetry Writing and Logical Reasoning classes. During nighttime activites Gabe chose Karaoke. When he was doing his song "The Countries Of The World" Amanda barged in and starting singing too. They weren't trying to say the notes right on the song but just the Countries.

In the middle of the book Nerd Camp Gabe tells Nikel and Wesley that they should put different things on their walls because they are covered in things that are geeky by Gabe's description. They found out that Wesley talks in his sleep,that night he solved a math problem on his homework. One night Gabe chose the "Try New Hairstyles" activity and he tried a lot and then he settled on one that is messy but on purpose like Zack. The next day the camp director announced that there has been cases of lice found and they had a lice activity to study lice and how it grows and how to prevent it. They find out where it's coming from and they discover that some campers are keeping the lice alive on purpose.

At the end of Nerd Camp Gabe was woken up by a light and strange noises. When they went out on the field there was a floating saucer and it announced that color war is breaking and that his bunk was on the green team, there was a yellow,red,green, and a blue team. during color war there was a scavenger hunt,jeopardy,sing off,field day, and an obstacle course. during the hunt Gabe had to kayak to Dead Man's Island to collect red sand. During this trip he meets Amanda, who is also going to collect red sand.When the rankings for color war were announced, sadly blue won the color war and green was in 2nd place. Calvin even congratulated Gabe for collecting red sand at the island. At the end of camp Zack comes for the class presentations and finds out that it is a "nerd" camp, they also find a milk snake wile going through the woods(native to the region but rarels found at that camp).ss

I would rate this book 10/10 because this was the perfect book for me. It had a lot of action and didn't skip to much time. Also, It didn't have a lot of skipped time in it. If it did have skipped time it would only be about a day.
