SETTING

- Maria Makiling associated with Mount Makiling in Laguna, Philippines

-Mt. Makiling describe Mariang Makiling’s face and two breasts, respectively, and her hair cascades downwards a gentle slope away from her body, which has abundant forest that is thick enough that mountaineers shouldn’t even need to put on sunscreen. It is also home to many wild plant species.

SETTING

-Maria's Hut where she slept with long ebony colored hair bathing in the stream and where her white clothes soaked yet they glistened like clouds in the early morning sky.

-At the farm where Maria saw the young man who work hardly

CHARACTER

PLOT

Neighbor's Daughter- the one that get married to the farmer's son.

Maria Makiling - is a nymph who dwells the forested mountain of Makiling that has an identity that is comparable to a queen, she is generous and kind who fall inlove to a farmer's son.

Farmer's son- hard worker, compassionate but a bit silent and mysterious and fall in loved to Maria but got married to their neighbor's daughter.

Mother and Father - couple who made an irresponsible move for their son.

EXPOSITION

EXPOSITION

One day, Maria decided to take a stroll down a local rice paddy. There, as she was enjoying the pleasant scenery, she caught a sight of a farmer’s son. From that day on, Maria would visit the farm in which the boy would work. She would look at him with longing eyes, a sign that she had fallen in love with the man but, even though that her heart sings for him still, the nymph cannot bring herself up towards him and thus must only look at him from a

far.

RISING ACTION

War, terrible war came within the land and every eligible male was called to arms. The farmer and his wife would not allow their only son to perish in such a war. Plague by fear and desperation, the couple made an irresponsible move. With the help of the local medicine man, they made their son sleep with a neighbor’s daughter. The act was discovered, and by traditional law the two must be wed in the soonest possible time.

CLIMAX

On the day of the wedding, before the sun had risen, the young man climbed the mountain and went into Maria’s hut. There he found the beautiful nymph sleeping. Such sight crushed the young’s heart for he knows that it would be the last. He woke up Maria from her slumber and he received a kissed from it. He can see in her eyes the bliss of the moment but tears not of joy but of sadness flowed from his eyes. Maria, confused about the matter and asked the boy. With a heavy heart, the boy told Maria everything that had happened, silence then followed. The boy stood up and gave Maria a final kiss in her forehead and said that he will always love her.

FALLING ACTION

In the next few days, famine came over the land. There came months of no rain and harvest, and the war was brought to an end because of it.

RESOLUTION

Many years had passed by and everything slowly came back to what it was and the tales of Maria Makiling had continued to live within the land itself

We need to remember that in whatever we do, there will always be an effect afterwards
