The Circle of Giving is a unique group of generous individuals that see the value of philanthropy to change lives. The Circle is the backbone to all of Whitefish Community Foundation’s grant programs, which includes funding the Great Fish Community Challenge Match Fund. This fund creates the percentage match for the annual campaign; substantially increasing the impact of each participating nonprofit’s fundraising efforts.

The Foundation provides training through nonprofit workshops and the new Nonprofit Development Program.
Several nonprofit training sessions were held during the first quarter of the year to discuss good governance and best practices for nonprofits.
One of the Whitefish Community Foundation's goals is to work with nonprofits to create stronger, accountable, and sustainable organizations. To address the increasing number of nonprofits requesting assistance from the Community Foundation, the Nonprofit Development Program was initiated in 2019 . Nonprofits may apply to receive one-on-one consulting services tailored to meet their needs in the following areas of focus:
Financial policy and other policy development
Accounting practices and streamlining of accounts
Financial reporting and oversight
Improving governance
Marketing and branding
Whitefish Community Foundation grant applications and grant reporting

The Whitefish Community Foundation's Kids Fund Program will work to help nonprofit organizations by providing funding that enables them to better assist our community’s vulnerable and homeless youth.
The Kids Fund was established in 2019 and is a grant program open to projects focusing on education, health and safety.
Nonprofits organizations may apply for a minimum grant of $10,000 up to a maximum grant of $50,000, and grants may be renewable depending on the project.

$298,234 in grants were made from endowment funds held at the Foundation, providing sustainable funding for nonprofits serving our community
Endowments provide an annual revenue source for nonprofits that is dependable for a sustainable future.
Abbie Shelter, Child Bridge, Flathead Shelter Friends and the Nate Chute Foundation opened new funds in 2019 bringing total endowment assets over $11 Million in 34 funds.
The Legacy Society recognizes donors who have made a gift to the Whitefish Community Foundation in their will or estate plans.
Donors can make a bequest in their will and set up a Legacy Fund at the Whitefish Community Foundation to accept this bequest and designate it to the charities or causes they have enjoyed supporting during their lifetime.
The Community Foundation's Board of Directors is comprised of local individuals that are deeply involved with the Foundation's work and the community. The Board of Directors bring a vast amount of knowledge to the Foundation. They are donors, fund holders, fundraisers, business owners, and entrepreneurs.
The National Standards for the U.S. Community Foundation accreditation program represents a Community Foundation's commitment to go above and beyond federal and state law requirements to demonstrate accountability and excellence to communities, policy makers and the public.
