- Falcone is isolated at the Court of Palermo, through the removal of one of his most trusted colleagues: Giuseppe D'Ayala, transferred by the Public Prosecutor of Palermo for "environmental incompatibility"

AGOSTINO AND PIAZZA
- August 5, 1989: Antonio Agostino, a policeman who had avoided the Addaura attack was killed along with his wife.
- March 16, 1990: Emanuele Piazza, after being kidnapped, is killed.
- September 21: the judge Rosario Livatino is killed by the "Stidda" of Agrigento. He was 37 years old.
- The witness, Ivano Nava, who recognized the perpetrators of the crime was forced to enter a witness protection program.
