Today I am going to talk about Preaching...

Rom 1:16

If you are watching this video, chances are

You have heard the Gospel at some point

Holy Spirit gave you a measure of faith

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

Unfortunately some of us treat the Gospel

Top secret code / exclusive club

Tuck it away never to share it or meditate on it

It served its purpose (I'm in the kingdom)

Of course this goes against our commission

Mark 16:15

However there is another practical application

When it comes / daily life of a Christian

We can/should preach the Gospel to ourselves

Daily

The Bible is full of feasts / rituals

Implemented by God for the purpose of

remembrance

He realizes that we tend to forget

amazing works of God (good times)

So today I wanted to encourage you to preach to yourself everyday (multiple)

For me this is on my way to work (car)

I remind myself that I spent (king of my throne)

...made a major mess of everything

...was on a direct path to eternal punishment

...God gave me several opport./free gift of salv.

...He took on the punishment I deserved

...He died, was buried, rose again

...He conquered the power of sin and death

...He sealed me w H.S. / No stronger seal

...Quite frankly, I deserve hell

Romans 6:23 says I earned it fair and square

But somewhere in His divine plan

He added me to the Book of Life

I am pardoned from the penalties of my sin

I get to experience the benefits of HIS

Life, death, and resurrection (eternity)

I think you can see how this will put things

into proper perspective

All of sudden that co-worker that drives

you crazy is just another person/mission fld

That work deadline isn't so dire

That person who is tailgating you....

Well that's still awful and I'm working on it

Maybe the loneliness / lessened / He's w/ U

That hurtful conversation you just had

No longer stings and all you want/call - sorry

I'm sure we can all make our own list

But just watch as that list melts away after

preaching the gospel to yourself

We don't have to wait for communion to

meditate on the Gospel in remem. of Him

And look what we are simultaneously doing

Ephesians 6 talks about putting on the

Whole armor of God/ withstand

While meditating on the Good News

I am putting the Armor of God on one piece at a time

The fiery darts are coming

So let us honor God by remembering what He has done / byproduct of this will be

equipping ourselves with the very important armor that is available to us

It can be the difference between a day in the flesh and in the spirit.
