Cell Analogy Task - Human Body

Introduction

Our chosen analogy is the Animal Cell compared to the human body. We chose the human body as we thought it would be interesting because cells exist largely in the human body itself. For some of the cell parts their were multiple analogy's, we chose the one we thought was most similar.

Ribosomes = Liver

Ribosomes

Ribosomes are like the liver because proteins from cytoplasm are put on ribosomes. The proteins are needed for cell growth, repair and reproduction. The liver helps your blood to stay healthy and to help battle bad cells such as dieseases. both the ribosomes and the liver are used to help repair your body.

Cytoplasm = Blood

Cytoplasm

Both cytoplasm and blood hold nutrience to help power the cell and fight germs and dieseases and in bloods case the human body. Blood lives in the vains and cytoplasm fills in the rest of the space in an animal cell. The nutrience they both carry help fight germs and also dieseases

Chromosomes = DNA

Chromosomes

Chromosomes actually contain DNA. DNA holds the instructions for human organisms to develop survive and reproduce. You could also compare DNA to blue prints for buildings, the blue prints are the instructions for the development of the building. DNA is also a huge part in the production of protein which helps power our bodies. All this is the same with chromosomes they help develop organisms and protein to power the cell.

Cell Membrane = Skin

Cell Membrane

The Cell Membrane is the like the skin on the human body. The Cell Membrane is the outer wall of the cell and it controls movement of waste and nutrients in and out of the cell. Your skin is also the outer wall of your body. Also, for example, your skin soaks up vitamin D into your body which is similar to cell membrane and nutrience.

Endoplasmic Reticulum = Veins

Endoplasmic Reticulum

Endoplasmic Reticulum and veins are similar. The Veins in a human body help package and transport organisms and protein to locations in your body so that your body parts can function. This is very similar to the Endoplasmic Reticulum, it also helps package and transport organisms and protein around the cell so it can function.

Golgi Apparutus = Stomach

Golgi Apparatus

The Golgi Apparutus and the stomach are alike. The stomach digests and prepares the food that isn't needed to go through your intenstinal system. This is similar to the Gogli Apparutus because the Gogli Apparatus organises and package organelles for secretion. This is similar to the stomach as they are both preparing waste to be disposed of.

Vacuoles = Body Fat

Vacuoles

The Vacuoles are like body fat. Body Fat stores nutrience and also some water, its like extra storage for your body. Vacuoles are very similar they are also extra storage in the cell, they store both organic and inorganic molecules and also water to support the cell. The Vacuoles and Body Fat are alike because they both act as extra storage for the cell/body.

Nucleus = Brain

Nucleus

The Nucleus and the brain are very a like. The Brain is the what controls the human body. It controls your emotions, your actions and your other organs. The Nucleus is very much the same. It controls the Cell and makes sure everythings in order. They are both the control centers of the cell/human body.

Mitochondria = Heart

Mitochondria

The Heart and the Mitochondria are alike. The heart pumps and sends nutrience known as blood around the human body givings the human body power. The Mitochondria is similar as the Mitochondria sends protein and nutrience around the cell to power it. The Mitochondria and the Heart both send nutrince around the Cell/Body to power the Cell/Body.
