How did you come up with them?
Personal experience from visiting places and experiencing waiting systems and functional devices.
Where did you come up with them?
Theme park (Legoland), North Grounds gym, and at home observing dinner guests using my silverware.
Why did you come up with them?
They indicate a user experience of everyday habits and artifacts that most times we don't think about.

This app is straightforward and has easy operability. I can film anything on my phone and just import and edit them anywhere. If you’re new to the app, the tutorials walk you through the basic functions, enabling easy learnability.

Being able to view your friend’s screen saves time as there is no need to take up memory with screen records and screenshots. It’s convenient, useful and the information they wish to share is accessible.

I just let the GBUX requirements sit in the back of my mind for a while, and I noticed that these 3 examples fit the categories while I was using them.

They were products with which I feel familiar and have frequent interactions.

They either brought me a lot of frustration, were 'good enough' , or were really great design examples.

It has high learnability with a display that will provide you with directions to take. It also has high reliability and consistency, making it a great kitchen appliance. Lastly, it has high flexibility, with options to bake, broil, fry, or just keep food warm.

These are objects I use very frequently. When I consider the "good", "bad", and "ugly" technology experiences, these immediately come to mind.

I came up with Goodnotes during class, the straightener when cleaning my room, and the toilet when ranting with a friend.

How did you come up with them?
I came up with these items by searching around my home and evaluating the objects or interfaces I use often to see how they fulfill basic user experience characteristics.
Where did you come up with them?
I came up with these at my apartment, specifically in my living room, kitchen, and bedroom.
Why did you come up with them?
I thought that by thinking of pros and cons about these objects or interfaces I could improve my own understanding of user experience.

High usefulness: ideal for packing a medium sized cup of liquid to drink on the go
High learnability: the protruding lip of the cap indicates that it can be popped off and the slider is built with a ridge to push against on one vertical
High error prevention: the underside has a silicone patch so that the cup doesn’t slide around on a table, the slider clicks audibly into place when opening and closing, the wider top barrier on the cap prevents you from pushing the lid in too far
High aesthetics: the design is sleek and minimal with clean lines and a pleasing white color that matches almost anything

High aesthetics: it’s super cute with a flower fountain on top, an appealing blue and white color scheme, and a matching complementary mat
Low operability: system will just stop working sometimes and the only workaround is to take things apart and putting it back together or turning it on and off
Low flexibility: there is only one way to interact with the system, which is to drink the water as is. There is no way to change the water flow level or adjust the fountain
Low feedback: it does not tell you when the water is running low or indicate when the filters need to be changed

High usefulness: our cat is able to drink flowing water which cats are attracted to
Mini Rice Cooker
High learnability: there is only one button to push down to start the rice cooker and an easy to read and understand indicator.
Low aesthetics: the rice cooker is small, black and unadorned with any cute designs or colors. The actual rice pot is exposed around the edges which can get dirty and doesn’t match with the rest of the pot.
Low feedback: there is no way to see how much longer the rice needs to cook
Low satisfaction: rice easily dries out because there is no air tight seal

This printer has decent aesthetics but awful usability since the touchscreen is not responsive and the menu is overly complex. It also has poor consistency and error prevention because the paper constantly jams and it disconnects from the internet.

High learnability: the buttons are all on the side of the speakers. It's really intuitive to use.

These items are located in my apartment's kitchen and bedroom.

Since I use these items often, I have noticed good and bad things about using them over time.

How did you come up with them?
I came up with these items because they were pertaining to my hobby of music.
Where did you come up with them?
I came up with them in my room when I was just looking around and items that I use everyday.
Why did you come up with them?
Some of the items I’ve been meaning to improve so identifying some negatives of the user experience was easy for me. It also helps me look for specific areas of improvements I can look for when I go out and buy an upgrade.
