A valid argument is one in which it is impossible for all the premises true and the conclusion is false.
Soundness
An argument is SOUND if and only if it is valid AND all of its premises are true.
The difference
While all sound arguments are valid arguments, not all valid arguments are
sound. For an argument to be sound is MUST be VALID.
Premise1: If the earth is the size of New York, then it contains water.
Premise2: The earth does not contain water.
Conclusion: Therefore the earth is not the size of New York.
