Civic Value

The Elementary Social Studies Curriculum book defines civic value as a term used to differentiate from "personal" values. It is the primary purpose, mission, rationale, or main goal of social studies.

Objectives

Students will be able to:

  • learn to embrace values such as respect, equality, and freedom

  • develop democratic and civic dispositions to participate in their communities
